You can listen to ‘ Love Thy Neighbourhood’ on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and the rest of the gang. We've got more. Here at Time Out, we love a good poddy so much, we made our own, which aired in July this year: ‘Love Thy Neighbourhood’ is a brand-new podcast, hosted by Time Out London's editor Joe Mackertich, where London celebs walk listeners through the best spots in their area. New additions to our list include Joe Pera's new sleep podcast and The Ringer's fascinating new look at pop culture's role in the Vietnam War, which has climbed to our top 10.īut wait. And somehow, in that time, we've been blessed with endless brilliant things to listen to, and new gems are still popping up all the time. We know, it sounds weird, but podcasting actually technically began on July 9, 2003, so they haven't really been around all that long. The Sim I described above would've had trouble maintaining her hedonistic lifestyle (before unlocking the 'no jealousy' trait anyway) without the Free Love NAP being active, for instance. In July 2023, podcasts turned 20. The Neighbourhood Action Plans especially are a great addition, as you can effect some pretty big changes. Everybody who has Seasons benefits from it in some way or another!Įco Lifestyle is another good one. Seasons is a very safe recommendation, as it introduces some widespread gameplay changes no matter which packs you have - weather, holidays and the like. Though it does add some nice Victorian-style items to the build menu. It's only going to come into play if you specifically play a vampire character. I suppose, though, the Vampires pack is very situational. That, and people wondering how she's never aged throughout her career, form part of her story. She now lives in a huge, modern celebrity mansion on top of a hill, where frequent after-dark parties of debauchery take place. My new Sim, Vivienne, really leans into the combination of being world famous and an eternal, ageless vampire, and uses her vampiric powers for hedonism and revelry! She basically seduces everybody she meets, has her fun with them at huge parties, then drinks their plasma when she's done with them. I have historically shied away from the 'occult' stuff in the Sims, but I really enjoyed working my way past the initial challenges of being a weak vampire, and becoming a more powerful Grand Master. The Vampires pack you've already played, but I really liked it too. It all adds new challenges too - trying to go on a quiet date without wearing a disguise is difficult! Crowds flock and paparazzi take pictures, your Sim will develop quirks like not liking strangers to touch them, you can give autographs and pose for the paparazzi, you get access to VIP areas if you're famous enough. Now they can!īeing super famous makes it feel like an event whenever your Sim goes out in public. It always felt odd to me that someone could pump out chart-topping pop music yet never get any recognition for it. It doesn't just cover the new acting career though, which I've had a lot of fun playing, but it also applies to all of the other things you'd expect it would - a prolific painter of masterpieces can become famous, a musician can become famous, a comedian, an author, a famous chef, etc. I enjoy the acting career, which mostly involves trying to perform different scenes on a stage (it's a career that requires a multi-talented Sim!). Get Famous can change the game entirely for a Sim that embraces it. I started a new Sim to work in showbusiness, and it soon dawned on me that if anybody would be prepared to make a deal with the devil to maintain eternal youth, it'd be a limelight-seeking actress! So after putting off buying them for a long time, as I thought I wouldn't like them, Get Famous and Vampires are now my two favourite packs!
